John S. Swinburn, CAE

John Swinburn has had a 28+ year career as an association executive, having served in several senior-level executive positions. His career includes more than seven years as Executive Director of the International Association of Assembly Managers, where he more than tripled the budget to $3.1 million, and increased reserve funds to more than $1.6 million. He also served as Senior VP/COO of the International Association for Exhibition Management, the world's largest association devoted to the advancement of trade and consumer show development, operation, and management. He served as Technical Activities Director and Associate Executive Director for the National Association of Corrosion Engineers, where he was responsible for the operations division (membership, meetings, education, certification, and publishing).


Janine K. Bethscheider, Ph.D.
Executive Vice President
An educational psychologist, social sciences researcher, and statistician by education and experience, Janine brings considerable analytical and sophisticated statistical skills to Challenge Management. Her background and experience in survey research, validation of psychometric instruments, and related quantitative psychological activities, coupled with skills in financial records management and tax preparation which she developed outside of her primary professional career, give Janine a unique set of skills to serve the company and our clients. Her special skills and capabilities, while applied primarily internally for corporate operations, are available as necessary and appropriate for our clients.


Suzann J. Oliver
Vice President, Meetings & Events
Suzie Oliver has an impressive record of executive managerial and operations experience in the meetings and hospitality industry, including ten years with the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau and ten years with the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Suzie plays a key role in business development and operations management for Challenge Management in the areas of meetings and events. The areas in which she is active include: support and management for corporate clients' meetings and events; trade show management and exhibit space sales; operations and logistics for association meetings; and planning, marketing, and management of expositions for client groups.


Dolores Cheek
Manager, Client Services
Dolores Cheek has an extensive background in operations management in a personal and professional services environment, having held positions with MBNA as a manager and personal banking officer. Dolores serves as chief staff executive for specific client associations and consults in areas where her expertise warrants. She works with committees, boards of directors, and other volunteer groups and understands how to build consensus so that associations can achieve their objectives.


Vikki Porter
Client Services Coordinator
Vikki Porter's primary functions are to ensure that our administrative responsibilities to our client associations are met in a timely manner. She is responsible for membership management for several associations and performs a variety of other administrative functions ranging from website maintenance, dues invoicing, and customer service, among many other functions. Vikki's immersion in all aspects of association management is ongoing; she is used whereever her many talents allow us to make best use of her abilities.


Judy Brito
Financial Services Assistant
Judy Brito's duties involve working in the financial arena on accounts payable, accounts receivable, data entry and quality control. In addition, she is involved with membership database maintenance as well as general administrative support. Judy's bilingual fluencies in English and Spanish are particularly valuable to us (and to our clients) when we are dealing with members and prospects from Mexico and Central and South America and Spain.
