May 28, 2009--Steve Christie Signs on as Consultant for Challenge Management, Inc.

John Swinburn, president of the Dallas, Texas-based association manage- ment company Challenge Management, Inc. (CMI), announced today that Stephen M. Christie, CAE has agreed to serve as senior consultant with CMI, specializing in transition management and association assessments. "Steve is widely regarded as one of the most capable association executives in the field and we're delighted he has agreed to come out of retirement to join our efforts to expand our transition management and association assessments practices," Swinburn said.

Christie has a long and distinguished career in association management, including seventeen years as executive director of the Automotive Oil Change Association and three years as executive director of the International Communications Association. In addition, he founded and operated for three years The Association Group, Inc., an Association Management Company and served nine years as chief executive and deputy chief executive for a purchasing collaborative. "Steve has had remarkable success in some very tough environments," Swinburn said, "including increasing convention attendance by 200% and trade show booth sales by 300%. His unique experience and creative ways of meeting objectives will help CMI serve clients that need the steady leadership of someone who has prevailed in tough times." Swinburn noted, too, that Christie will assist CMI in adding a new focus on issues-based organizations to the company's repertoire of capabilities.
